The Rescue Mission is proud to present the CNY premiere of @home, a documentary that explores homelessness in America. November 22 at 7:30pm is the first Central New York showing of the film and it will be held at The Palace Theatre, 2384 James St. Admission is free with a food or clothing donation.
There will be a special appearance by Mark Horvath, homeless advocate, creator of Invisible People and inspiration for the making of @home. Mr. Horvath, originally from Binghamton, will join Rescue Mission CEO Alan Thornton for a Q&A session immediately following the film. @home documents Horvath’s travels around the country as he met and interviewed men, women and children who live in a state of homelessness.
The showing is in observance of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, which runs November 16-24. The Rescue Mission will hold events each day during the week to spread awareness of hunger and homelessness in our community.
